Unsere Arbeit

Architectural, Medical Equipment and Engineering

We start with a Plausibility Check where we examine:

  • Suitability of landscape where hospital is supposed to be built and its intended layout, size and scope of services

  • Availability of competent personnel and future hospital operator

  • Consistency between size of healthcare market and estimated investment as well as operational cost

  • Existing planning documents and concepts

Preliminary Design integrates the input of client, services engineers, key consultants and key authorities to a large scale general design. It defines roughly:

  • Environmental impact [water treatment, waste disposal, incineration]

  • Infrastructural concept [water, electricity, access, transport]

  • Architectural layout and spatial organisation [arrangement of areas and volumes]

  • Structural concept [building construction]

  • Technical concept [arrangement of equipment]

  • Preliminary Design provides 1:200 drawings in plan, section and elevation, impressions, calculations and tables

  • Planning details in order to execute a liable cost estimate

  • Liable cost estimate, usually based on area and volume (approx. 30% exact)

  • Preliminary schedule for further planning, tendering, awarding and construction

Approval of Preliminary Design prior to starting the design phase assures planning security and helps controlling the budget. It defines:

  • Environmental impact

  • Infrastructural concept

  • Architectural layout and spatial organisation

  • Structural concept

  • Technical concept

  • Interior & architectural concept [style, materials, colours]

  • Design provides 1:100 drawings in plan, section and elevation, impressions, calculations and tables

  • Planning details in order to execute a liable cost calculation

  • Liable cost calculation, usually based on elements (approx. 20% exact)

  • Schedules for further planning, tendering, awarding and construction

In the Implementation Step the project progresses from concept to real life. It defines in detail:

  • Infrastructural elements

  • Architectural elements

  • Structural elements

  • Equipment

  • Interior & architectural concept [style, materials, colours]

  • It provides 1:50 drawings in plan, section and elevation, 1:20 to 1:1 detail drawings, impressions, calculations and tables

  • Samples of material and equipment

  • Schedules for further planning, tendering, awarding and construction (all trades)

  • Approval of Implementation Design prior to Tendering assures budget control
