Inauguration of the National Perinatal Centre in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov took part in the opening ceremony of the Perinatal Center at the National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare.
The center was built in cooperation with the German Development Bank (KfW) within the framework of Protection of Maternal and Child Health — IV-V project.
President Sadyr Japarov stressed that the opening of the Perinatal Center is a significant step in achieving strategic goals for the protection of maternity and care for the health of newborns.
The center is a high-tech institution providing medical care to pregnant women and newborns with pathologies.
«Given that the main wealth of our country is people, our main duty is to take care of the health of every newborn child and every pregnant mother,» the President said.
The Perinatal Center with a total area of 4,000 square meters includes modern operating rooms with high-tech medical equipment, resuscitation rooms for mother and child, Neonatal ICU and IMC, wards and other medical services. It will start operating in February 2024.

Inauguration of Chemotherapy
On Friday 5th of January 2024, the new Chemotherapy Department was inaugurated in the Referral & Teaching Hospital St. Benedicts, Ndanda. The project will allow the start of desired medical services for Chemotherapy as a New Department.
One old existing building could be re-used for this purpose and fully renovated and extended. Main focus were here the aspects for an economical project execution and green building / sustainable operation with low costs.
Due to solar and hydro-power and a natural cross ventilation in all suitable areas, this newly renovated part is a sustainable element of the referral hospital where currently many parts are under renovation and retrofitting to comply both with Tanzanian and international best-practice medical and environmental standards.
St. Karl Borromäus Hospital Mecua
The visit of Missio Austria with Pater Karl Wallner was the highlight for the Benedictins, Construction and RRPintl teams! We have visited the whole compound and ongoing constructions together. The whole project will change the this part close to Nampula with a hospital, schools, kindergarten and creation of jobs and community. RRPintl is lead architect for this 103 hectars large development.
AL SHARQ HOSPITAL DIBBA -FUJAIRAH UAE - CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
RRP International CEO Henning Lensch visited the construction in Dibba, UAE. Mock-up rooms for the patient areas and the overall site progress were discussed and very much appreciated. Under the management of DRU -DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH &URBAN PLANNING CONSULTANT - the construction of the Al Sharq Hospital Dibba in Fujairah United Arab Emirates is successfully progressing. RRP International worked with DRU for the Conceptual and Schematic Design for this State-of-the-Art International Hospital. Key aspects are a workflow based / functional hospital design with focus on patient centered design and healing environment. Site picture is showing status in late September 2023.
Successful renovation and expansion of the OPD in Ndanda Referral Hospital
The renovation and extension of the OPD in St. Benedict’s Referral Hospital in Ndanda was a challenge for the construction works. Connection of new and old, additional entrances and shaping adequate waiting areas was difficult but successfully executed in a short time and tight budget. Patients are happy to experience a new OPD centre with casher and registration, renovated specialities with treatment and examination.

Successful renovation of the Wards in Ndanda Referral Hospital
The change from the “bed to bed facing” ward layout to an open and yet private new ward concept was a major improvement for the wellbeing of patients and staff. Cubicles with partitions are 2.0m high to provide privacy and distance yet the cross ventilation is still working very well and nurses base very close to the patients with intermediate care beds just opposite. The last existing “old” wards are currently either under renovation or scheduled to be transferred to the new configuration.
New Construction of the Emergency in Ndanda Referral Hospital
The Emergency Department started operations! Resuscitation, Operation Room, Treatment bays supported by all supporting rooms and Triage are creating modern and state-of-the-art facilities for modern Emergency Medicine. With the new Administration just above, the new EMD with neighbouring OPD creates the new hub of the hospital.

Next generation of Stroke Rehabilitation Centres, UIA Worldwide Design Competition
The International Union of Architects (UIA) launched the Next Generation of Stroke Rehabilitation Centres international single stage student ideas competition open to all students in architecture of the world. The competition was organised by the UIA Public Health Group and the NOVELL Redesign Team. It was co-sponsored by the Australian Health Design Council (AHDC). After consultations, the competition organiser of the Next Generation of Stroke Rehabilitation Centres International Ideas Student Competition decided on the need to allow participants to exceed 1,600 sqm if they wished to include ancillary facilities (catering, stores, logistics, service and administration ) in their design proposal. Due to the large number of applications received, the jury had to postpone the evaluation meeting. The results were announced on June 5.

Presentation of St. Benedicts Referral Hospital in Landsberg am Lech, Bavaria, Germany
On 11th of July 2023, Dr. Br. Jesaja as Chief Medical Doctor had the opportunity to present the St. Benedicts Referral Hospital to a broader audience in the old Town Hall in Landsberg am Lech. The presentation covered the recent achievements and especially medical and infrastructure projects.
Henning Lensch, RRP International, presented the recent projects: upgrade of the existing Operation Theatre Complex with new CSSD as well as the MCC Mother & Child Centre Project. The two new buildings shall lift up infection control and provide medical state-of-the-art yet economically feasible facilities.
RRP International is working since 2019 with several projects for renovation, expansion and new-building for Ndanda St. Benedicts Referral Hospital.
Visit of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers to the National Perinatal Center in Bishkek
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov got acquainted with the progress of the construction of the Republican Perinatal Center in Bishkek.
The medical facility is being built at the expense of grants from the German Development Bank KfW. RRPintl is the Architect, Implementation Consultant and FIDIC Engineer.
Central Asia, Lecture at Technical University Bishkek
Mr Henning Lensch, CEO RRP International, has attended a lecture at Kyrgyz Technical University in Bishkek on Thursday 22nd of June. As Jury Member for the worldwide international UIA Student´s Competition, Mr Henning Lensch has briefed all about the competition results and expressed great appreciation that 9 projects from the Kyrgyz Republic were successfully submitted. The importance of healthcare architecture, finding affordable solutions for especially emerging countries, is extremely important and young students shall be encouraged to further study this specialised area of architecture and engineering design. Hence, it was agreed that further measures and programmes shall be discussed in order to support the Kyrgyz students.

Mozambique - Start of clearing the site for road works and first building phase
In Mozambique, clearing for roads and the first building phase has kicked off. The Masterplan with state-of-the-art healthcare, residential and spiritual components has started with implementation.

St. Benedict Referral Hospital, Start of Construction of the Hostel Project
A modern hospital does need more functions than the classical medical departments. Visiting medical doctors, consultants and students are coming frequently to provide services, to teach and to learn. The first phase of the hostel complex started construction in the beginning of April 2023.

RRP hosted in Munich, Germany, the Tender Committee Meeting for the Republican Perinatal Center in Bishkek. The international tender contains medical equipment for the state-of-the-art National Perintal Center.

EIB KBCRi Phase III Finalisation of Designs
End of June and beginning of July 2022, the Consultants m4health & RRP International & ZDL with Gorski conducted final presentations and coordination for the Preliminary Designs of the Phase III KBCRi Feasibility Study (EIB).
One aspect is the harmonic and functional integration of somatic and psychiatric care in a state-of-the-art modern European University Teaching Hospital embedded in a green hospital park environment. Lead architect Henning Lensch explained to the medical and management staff the concept of a green hospital in an healing environment.
Republic Day in India - Paras Hospital Gurgaon
With Paras Hospital in Gurgaon, India, a milestone project for RRP outside Germany could be set and marked the starting point of many international projects since then.
We are very pleased to see the beautiful light installation to celebrate India's Republic Day on the 26th of January. We shall pay deep respect to the largest democratic country in the world!

Masterplan in Mozambique
In Mozambique, RRP International has started a Masterplan with state-of-the-art healthcare, residential and spiritual components. The complete area is more than 100 ha, ground water has been found and the first roads are under implementation. This new development shall be guided by Environmental Green & Sustainable Development Principles from day-one and become a regional hub for innovative / appropriate technologies.

National Perinatal Centre, Bishkek
End of June 2022, a mission from BMZ and KfW Germany with MoH KR has visited the National Perinatal Centre in Bishkek. Team Leader Henning Lensch was explaining the project and especially healthcare planning standards to the visitors. Main aspects are the economic and functional workflow combined with cost effective solutions for building maintenance.
Tanzania, Ward Renovation Project
RRP International is supporting St. Benedict Ndanda Referral Hospital since 2019 in various projects and upgrades. Currently, the execution of the renovation of the wards from the 1970´s years and the renovation and extension of the Emergency are following the schedule in time. The new wards shall improve the current situation by introducing zoning in an open concept and enhance patient care with intermediate care areas close to the newly created centralised nursing stations.
National Perinatal Centre, Kyrgyz Republic
The National Perinatal Centre is starting to be equipped with FFE. During a Site Visit with all Stakeholders under the lead by RRPintl, the special construction in compliance with international standards could be explained with details.
State-of-the-art Hospital in Addis Ababa
RRPintl has visited the end of piling phase at the State-of-the-art private hospital in Addis Ababa. The hospital shall have in the first phase 250 and in the second stage 350 beds. RRPintl was lead architect until Schematic Design. Advisory partners were i.a. JHMI Johns Hopkins Medical International, USA.
Cambodia - Upgrade of existing hospitals
A field trip end of 2021 could confirm the measures for referral and district hospitals in Cambodia. Both hospitals are located close to Thailand. With focus on the migrant workers population, this ADB program is targeting improvements of existing healthcare facilities and boarder points. RRP International is working for GOPA, Germany.
Tanzania - Ndanda St. Benedict Referral Hospital, Upgrade Imaging and New CT
RRP International is supporting St. Benedict Ndanda Referral Hospital since 2019 in various projects and upgrades. The CT installation was done in September 2021. Soon after that, the machine and the radiation protection room have been approved by TAEC. From 4th until 8th of October, the Siemens application specialist has visited us and has provided training for our staff as well as for 5 radiographers of surrounding facilities.
During application training, two young patients with intracranial bleeding have been investigated. Both patients have been operated successfully by an orthopaedic surgeon from Muhimbili National Hospital and they are doing fine. Without CT scan, both patients would have died. Until end of November 2021, 77 CT scans have been performed. For most of these patients, the investigation was crucial for correct diagnosis and treatment.
Availability of CT Scan is a milestone in the development of our hospital and a quantum leap forward for the health care of the population of southern Tanzania and northern Mozambique.
Private State-of-the-art Hospital and Medical Centre
Pakistan as fast growing emerging country has immense potential for further expansion of private healthcare facilities. RRP International is working since 2012 in Pakistan and is continuing planning and implementation of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities with this masterplan.
Focus on Indonesia - University Hospital Projects - under planning and construction
RRP International has a focus on multiple hospital projects in Indonesia since 2005. Recent projects comprise renovation of unfinished University Hospital Buildings with 600 beds and Feasibility Studies for University Hospitals in Java in combination with EU Grants for measures against COVID 19.

RRP International is starting the design services for a state-of-the-art multi-specialty hospital in the United Arab Emirates. Provision of affordable healthcare services with an appropriate and well functioning infrastructure shall help that affordable private healthcare services can reach out to the population. With this project, RRP International is expending the portfolio of healthcare projects in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
Third Party Review, VFM Value for Money assignments
RRP International is providing Third Party Review and VFM Consultancy for a number of healthcare projects in Ghana. Review services shall provide benchmarks for costing and functional planning. RRP International has provided since 2011 a number of similar projects to ensure adherence to applicable standards and budgets within benchmarks for construction and medical equipment costs.
Ground Breaking for Medical Campus with more than 1100 beds in Addis Ababa
RRP International is lead architect for a 250 - 350 beds General Hospital in Addis Ababa as the first starting point of the development of a Medical Campus with more than 1100 beds. Construction has started and completion of this first phase is expected for 2023.

EIB European Investment Bank project in Croatia - around 650 beds hospital developement
RRP International Hospital Planners Pte. Ltd.in consortium with management 4health GmbH , Gorski d.o.o. and ZDL Arhitekti, launches the Feasibility Study of the third phase of the KBC University Hospital project in Rijeka, funded by the European Investment Bank EIAH grant, for the consolidation of all KBCRi facilities onto the Susak site. The project started on 15 December 2020 with a kick-off meeting and will run for 12 months.
